Bio:

I am a student of the Electrical and Computer Engineering School at UAB. I am working on a couple of projects and have decided to use the Ruby on Rails framework. It's seems like the perfect choice for a one-man programming team.

First web site launced

I have launched my first web site. You will notice the layout is VERY similar to RailsSpace. I used the RailsSpace book a lot for my site and want to thank the authors for such a great book. The site is www.phonekam.com , check it out!

Forum Application

Is there any plans for a forum for RailsSpace in the works? My project requires forums. I will probably use forum software written in php and rewrite the application to use the User table that RailsSpace uses. Any suggestions?

The forum for book readers is a RailsSpace Google group, but adding one to the site is definitely a possibility. A good place to start is the Beast, an open-source forum in Rails. You can get the code using Subversion:

svn co http://svn.techno-weenie.net/projects/beast/trunk/ beast

There is another social networking sites with rails book that just came out that has forums...its kind of cool cause it compliments railsspace nicely, and vise versa. What one lacks the other makes up for.

I'm welcoming persons into our basecamp site, which seems very smooth: http://gravityway.projectpath.com. At this point, I feel a bit worn down by having "taken the liberty" of generating accounts & forwarding the lognpasses to, mainly, Observers (the title I feel more comfy giving out to people who may not share interest in the project after 8 hours of sleep), however, you are welcome to pick a title, e.g., Developer, Designer, Engineer, Observer, etc., & e-mail me. I will promptly include you into the group . . .
