Hello all, I'm new to web development using Rails, I head about rails a year before I bought the RailsSpace book but thought it was too complicated, at the time I was messing about with PHP, it wasn't until I converted back to the Mac that my interest in rails re-emerged.

I grew up in and around computers and I was a long time happy Apple Mac using during the late 80's and early 90's, then as well all know Apple lost their way, and my parents eventually ended up buying a IBM compatible PC and I ended up living with windows until 98 when the original iMac came out, I persuaded my parents to by me one, but was completely unhappy with it, OS 8 / 9, a load of crap! I went back to the Mac full time last year, after discovering Linux in 2000/2001 then realizing that the Mac could give me the best of both worlds, open source Unix like OS with a pretty and similar (sort of) GUI. I bought myself a Mac Mini, and I have never looked back! I love learning about programming again, the Mac makes programming a joy, I would like to persuade everyone not using one, to bite the bullet and go and buy a cheap Mac - the Mini's rule!

As soon as I got the mini the first thing I did, was crack (not literally) open the case (voiding my warranty in the process) and whack two 1GB RAM sticks in it, £24 plus delivery from ebay! Hail Microsoft and Vista for making RAM so damn cheap!

Then I applied for my free Leopard upgrade at a cost of £6.00 - Umm Free eh? and I've been loving reading about and developing rails on it. Although I must say, hurry up Mysql and release a installable version for Leopard, not that compiling etc.. is hard - I did use Linux for a few years, it's just a pain!

What has happened with leopard 10.5.2 update?

I recently re-installed leopard and fully upgraded t 10.5.2 via software update, and now I can't seem to boot into Linux (ubuntu) that is installed on an External USB 2.0 hard drive, before re-installing and updating it booted like a charm whilst holding down the menu button on the apple remote, and now it don't work and refuses to boot ubuntu, even after I re-installed ubuntu!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!! What has happened?
